This set from Star Decals offers markings of the British A34 Comet tank, and that from the end of the Second World War as well as from later postwar service. It is an addition for the model you are building; the vehicle itself is not included.
The Comet was the last British cruiser tank that still took part in the fighting in Europe. It carried a 77mm gun firing ammunition derived from the 17-pounder weapon, had a sturdier chassis than the older types and gained markedly in reliability against them. It reached the units only in the last months of the war, but it then lasted in service long into the postwar years and served outside Britain as well. British units were still running it in the 1950s and in some other armies it stayed longer.
British vehicles wore insignia on the fenders, on the hull and on the turret, that is on areas with sharp edges and projections. Seat a design in the middle of the area first, therefore, and only then draw it toward the edges with a soft brush. Vehicles of postwar service tend to be better kept than fighting ones, so weathering on them stays finer and the markings stay more pronounced. Postwar insignia are moreover more colorful than those from the last months of the war.
