Eduard 1:72 Consolidated B-24H Liberator landing gear is a full photo-etched set for the landing gear areas of the American heavy bomber in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This full Eduard photo-etched set deals with the landing gear areas of the B-24H heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. Photo-etch allows fine structures to be rendered that injection-molded plastic cannot manage, and on the substantial nose and main gear of the Liberator that step up is visible at first glance. The set is meant to be built into a plastic kit; it is not a model in its own right.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was the most numerously produced American four-engined bomber of the Second World War. Its slender Davis wing gave it great range, which let it operate over both the Atlantic and the Pacific, and the nose gear made handling on the ground easier. The B-24H was one of the most widespread versions; thousands of them came off the huge assembly lines of American industry and flew on every major front.
Bend the larger parts over a steel rule or in a bender so that the edges stay perfectly straight. Dry-fit the more complex shapes first; do the gluing with cyanoacrylate in small steps. On the landing gear watch the alignment - parts seated out of true would be visible for good once the build is finished.
The photo-etched details in the gear bays belong there before the nacelles and the wing are joined. The gear legs themselves are better left to the end of the build so that they are not in the way during painting and weathering.
