Croatian national insignia and numbers in 1:72 scale for the Rafale, that is for the type that replaced the outgoing MiG-21s in the country.
Responsibility details are not available.
Croatia took a long time deciding on a new fighter and in the end reached for a secondhand French machine. The aircraft handed over from French stocks went through inspection and servicing and began arriving in the country in the mid-2020s, to replace proven but hopelessly obsolete equipment of Soviet origin. The move from a single-engine veteran to a twin-engine machine with canard surfaces was a leap across a generation for the whole air force.
The Rafale is designed so that a single type can handle air defense, attack on ground targets and reconnaissance alike. A delta with foreplanes gives it agility at low speeds and a pair of engines a comfortable reserve over the sea. For the Croatian Air Force it means the first machine that meets alliance standard requirements without compromise.
The set of markings aims at a subject for which accessories are only now appearing. The national insignia and numbers can be used on any machine of the delivery, so you choose for yourself which example to build. Rafale kits are commonly made in the small scale; just watch the difference between the single-seat and the two-seat version, which shows markedly in the forward part of the fuselage.
The gray finish of the French machines has several shades on one airframe, so the result gains a great deal if the areas are sprayed separately.
