A photo-etched set for the Curtiss P-36 and H-75 Hawk 1:72 from AML: detail parts for AZ Models and Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale for a model of the American Curtiss fighter, carried under the designation P-36 in American service and H-75 in the export form. Photo-etched metal solves what injected plastic cannot: thickness. In reality the belts, instrument panels, grilles and flaps have the thickness of sheet metal, which cannot be produced out of a mold, and that is why they are made of thin metal. The manufacturer states the set is for kits of the AZ Models and Revell brands.
The Curtiss P-36, known in export as the Hawk 75, was an American single-engine fighter with a radial engine and retractable landing gear. In American colors it served mainly as a trainer and a second-line machine, but in export it reached a number of countries, and French machines of this type went into the fighting over France in 1940. It was the type from which a series of machines with a liquid-cooled V12 later came about.
Photo-etched parts are cut off the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface, not with nippers. Make the bends over a photo-etch bender or over a razor blade; the metal bends in one go, and repeated bending will break it. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and with the smallest possible amount of it. Degrease the metal and apply a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal and will rub off with handling.
The set is an accessory, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
