About product

Quickboost Rotol propeller for the Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I with a jig (1:72)

A resin detail accessory from Quickboost, made by Aires, in 1:72 scale. The set replaces the Rotol propeller with a more faithfully rendered resin part and holds a jig (a template) for setting the angle and the spacing of the blades accurately while gluing. It is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone accessory that raises the fidelity of the front of the machine.

The real subject

The Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I was a British fighter of the early Second World War whose unusual feature was a powered gun turret behind the pilot instead of fixed armament in the wings. It was powered by a Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine with a Rotol propeller.

Building and painting tips

Wash the parts to remove any mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Use the jig supplied to line the blades up in the correct plane before the glue sets. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.

Who it is for

  • For modelers building a Defiant Mk.I in 1:72 scale.
  • For anyone after a faithful propeller with the blades glued accurately.
  • The aircraft kit itself is not included in the package.
