The base captures a destroyed tank of the Panther type, that is a German medium tank of the Second World War, set into terrain. For a modeler it is a finished display, not a kit of the machine: the wreck is part of the scene and serves as a pronounced item beside which a model of your own is displayed.
Abandoned hardware is the classic way of giving a scene a sense of scale and action at once. A model of your own placed beside the wreck gains a context immediately and the viewer fills the time frame in unaided. Displaying it alone works well too, with the wreck as the only object; in that case it pays to devote the greatest care to the terrain around it, because that is precisely what carries the whole impression.
Abandoned metal goes through a gradual collapse and the conviction rests on the order of the layers. First the base shade, then the places where the paint is peeling away, and only above that the rust in several tones from orange to dark brown. Rust runs down, so draw thin runs downward along the vertical faces. Water, leaves and in time small greenery hold in the horizontal hollows, and a hint of low vegetation at the running gear will shift the scene a few seasons further on at once.
