An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engined de Havilland DH-88 Comet racing aircraft from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov. The Prototype and Racers edition offers markings on the decal sheet for the prototype and for several racing machines, so you can choose from striking period color schemes.
The de Havilland DH-88 Comet was an elegant wooden racing aircraft of the mid-1930s, designed specifically for long-distance air races. With its slender fuselage, retractable landing gear and a pair of inline engines it was among the fastest machines of its day and became famous above all for winning the race from England to Australia. Its aerodynamic shapes foreshadowed the fast twin-engined aircraft that followed.
Glue with thin plastic cement and take care over clean joints on the slender fuselage. Racing schemes tend to be strongly colored and glossy, so a good primer and a gloss coat under the decals pay off; it is best to varnish the finished model for a smooth racing look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
