Wheels with block tread for the de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito in 1:72 scale are a resin accessory from the brand Brengun; this is the variant of wheels with a pronounced block pattern on the tread.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement part. It offers resin main landing gear wheels in the variant with a block tread, that is, with a pronounced pattern made up of rectangular blocks. The Mosquito flew on several types of tire and it is precisely the pattern of the tread that is one of the details by which individual machines and periods of deployment can be told apart. If you are building a particular aircraft from a period photograph, the choice of the right tread is a small thing that a connoisseur will notice at once.
The de Havilland DH.98 Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft of largely wooden construction with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. It served as a fast bomber, a reconnaissance machine and a heavy fighter alike. On a model standing on its landing gear the wheels are permanently in view, so refining their shape and pattern has a greater influence on the overall impression than their size would suggest.
Before building, compare the tread with a photograph of the machine you are building, so that the variant matches. Wash the casting with lukewarm water and detergent and remove the release agent. Cut the casting block off and level the seating surface on abrasive paper laid on a flat board. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A block tread is rewarding for dry brushing: after the base dark gray paint, go lightly over the edges of the blocks with a lighter shade and the pattern will stand out.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
