A set of die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Peewit brand for a model of the German Dornier Do 17Z-10 night fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory for cleanly spraying the frames of the pilot's glazing. The masks follow the shape of the frames of a particular kit exactly.
The Dornier Do 17Z-10, nicknamed Kauz, meaning little owl, was a German night fighter converted from the Do 17Z bomber. It was given a solid, unglazed nose with concentrated gun armament and was deployed from 1941. It came about in small numbers only, which makes it an interesting and less usual subject.
Stick the masks onto a clean, degreased and dry surface and press their edges down well, so that the paint does not bleed underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush at lower pressure. Mask the frames of the glazing carefully, part by part. Remove the masks while the paint is still fresh, so that they do not tear off a dried coat.
This is a masking set, not a model. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package.
