1:72 Double radial rows of 3D rivets - raised rivets applied as a decal from Eduard brings raised riveting in a radial arrangement for small scales.
Responsibility details are not available.
In 1:72 scale a rivet measures a fraction of a millimeter and yet it decides whether the surface of a model looks like sheet metal or like a smooth toy. This set from Eduard offers ready-made double rows running out in a circle, 3D printed and applied to the surface by the decal technique. Doing a detail like this by hand in so small a scale is beyond most builders, because the spacing between the individual rivets is smaller than the point of an ordinary needle.
A radial layout follows circular outlines. On propeller-driven machines these tend to be the cowlings of radial engines and their front lips, on jet aircraft the lips of air intakes and circular access panels, and on helicopters the gearbox covers. Restraint is decisive: in a small scale, surface detail that is too dense looks worse than its complete absence, so choose places that really are visible on a finished model.
Work with a sharp scalpel and tweezers with fine jaws, because in this scale a strip is easily cut through. The surface has to be varnished and dry. After seating, let the row dry freely for a longer time, and only then consider a thin protective varnish. Keep the shading light, otherwise the small relief will be lost under a layer of paint.
