An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Boeing EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft in 1:72 scale from the firm Academy. The decals refer to the VAQ-141 Shadow Hawks squadron. The package is made up of injection-molded plastic sprues with engraved panel lines, a clear cockpit canopy, jamming pods and external stores.
The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a two-seat electronic warfare aircraft derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet carrier fighter. It serves to find, identify and jam enemy radars and communications and to suppress enemy air defenses. It carries special jamming pods and anti-radar weapons. Its crew consists of a pilot and a second member responsible for operating the electronic warfare systems. In the US Navy it replaced the older EA-6B Prowler type and became the main carrier of the electronic warfare capability of the carrier air wing.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish the two-seat cockpit before closing up the fuselage and mask the clear canopy. Apply a primer and spray the gray naval schemes with an airbrush in thin coats. Assemble the jamming pods and the external stores separately. The engraved lines are brought out with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
