A detail set of the engine for the EH-101 Merlin helicopter in 1:72 scale - resin accessories from the Czech maker Black Dog for showing the machine with its power unit exposed.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory set from the Czech maker Black Dog capturing the power unit of the multipurpose helicopter EH-101 Merlin in 1:72 scale. It is not a model in its own right - the set makes it possible to build the helicopter with the covers of the engine section open and to show the viewer what is hidden under the cowling.
The EH-101 Merlin, known today as the AW101, is a medium multipurpose helicopter developed jointly by British and Italian designers. It is powered by three turboshaft engines and serves in naval, transport, search and rescue versions with a number of air arms. It is precisely the engine section above the fuselage that is a striking and rewarding detail on an exposed machine, and an ordinary kit captures it only in simplified form.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water and remove the remains of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off gradually and with feeling, and sand the small parts down rather than cutting them - always with your airways protected. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The engine will show at its best with gentle shading of the metal shades and a dark wash in the recesses; add fine wiring around the open covers.
A resin accessory set - the kit of the helicopter, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
