Masking stencils for the landing gear bays of an F-111 Aardvark model in 1:72 scale, cut for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of masking stencils that follow the shape of the openings of the landing gear bays on an F-111 model in 1:72 scale. It is intended for the Hasegawa kit, so the outlines match particular parts and you do not have to cut them out by eye.
The landing gear bays are painted differently from the surrounding surface and tend to be finished before the camouflage. Filling them with paper and adhesive tape is lengthy and the edge of an opening rarely comes out sharp from it. A stencil covers the opening exactly, so no paint and no sanding dust get into a bay and the edge stays clean. The need to clean up an oversprayed bay with a cotton swab, during which the fine pipework inside is easily damaged, falls away as well.
The F-111 Aardvark is a two-seat tactical bomber with a variable-geometry wing. The crew sits side by side and the machine has sizeable landing gear bays that are clearly visible on a finished model.
Paint the inside of a bay and let it dry, and only then lay the stencil on and press the edges down with a toothpick. Spray the paint square to the surface and in thin coats, so that it does not run under an edge. Take the stencil off shortly after spraying, while the coat is not yet hard.
The package contains the masking stencils alone. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
