This resin detail set brings a complete cockpit for a model of the American F-117A Nighthawk stealth attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory with which you replace the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit. The set usually contains a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles and an ejection seat with a fine relief of instruments and controls.
The F-117A Nighthawk was the first production combat aircraft designed specifically for low radar observability. Its shape was made up of many flat facets that reflected radar waves away from the source, and its surface was covered with a special material. The single-seat machine served for precise night strikes on heavily defended targets and became a symbol of the emerging era of stealth technology.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A primer, a dark cockpit shade, a dry brush on the edges and a fine wash work well; decals or precise brushwork will bring the displays and the instruments to life.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
