A resin detail set from Aires in 1:72 scale intended to raise the fidelity of the cockpit of the American F-14A Tomcat carrier-based fighter. This is not a model of the aircraft but an aftermarket accessory that replaces the plastic cockpit of a suitable kit with finely cast resin parts.
The F-14A Tomcat is a two-seat carrier-based fighter of the US Navy with variable-geometry wings. The crew was made up of a pilot and a weapon systems operator, so the cockpit holds two separate stations with differing instrument fits.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before fitting, check the fit of the cockpit against the fuselage of the kit. The instrument panels of both cockpits come into their own once they are painted and the detail is picked out.
This is a resin accessory. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
