This item is not an aircraft model but an accessory for its cockpit. It brings ACES II ejection seats cast in resin for the two-seat Strike Eagle cockpit in 1:72 scale. The wording Wool Pad refers to the coarser wool finish of the cushions. It is in a small scale that a replacement pays off most: an injection-molded part is often simplified into a rough block, whereas a casting holds the shape of the frame, the headrest and the layout of the cushions.
The ACES II, in full the Advanced Concept Ejection Seat, is an American ejection seat introduced at the end of the 1970s and carried by most combat aircraft of the US Air Force, the whole F-15 family among them. The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle is the two-seat strike version of the Eagle with a pilot and a weapon systems officer, and the Korean form of the same machine is designated F-15K Slam Eagle. Although a model in 1:72 scale is small, the long clear canopy leaves the cockpit clearly visible, and the difference between a simplified and a faithful seat shape shows at first glance.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry. Separate the remains of the casting blocks with a saw and level the mating surfaces, so that both seats stand at the same height and angle. Try the fit dry before closing the fuselage. In a small scale work with thinned paint in thin coats, so that the detail is not flooded; a dark shadow into the recesses and a light dry brush on the edges will do most of the work. Colored release handles help to break the cockpit up visually.
