This item is not an aircraft model but a stand-alone decal sheet from DEF Model. It holds the markings of an F-15J of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force from the 306th Squadron in the special scheme prepared for the airshow at Komatsu air base in 2022. The set is worked for 1:72 scale and serves as an accessory to a model you already have.
The F-15J is the Japanese form of the American F-15C interceptor. Most of the machines were built under license at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and the type still forms the backbone of Japanese air defense to this day. It is a single-seat twin-engine aircraft with a large wing, excellent rate of climb and long patrol endurance, which received part of its avionics from Japanese production. The 306th Squadron is based at Komatsu on the coast of the Sea of Japan, and its machines appear at airshows in striking occasional schemes. A scheme of exactly that kind, completed by the film motif the set is named after, came with the 2022 appearance.
Even up the surface under the decals with a gloss clear varnish first, so that no air is left under the carrier film. Separate the motifs one at a time, dip them briefly in lukewarm water and seat them on the model with a brush. On the large colored areas on the fins and the fuselage it pays to work in sections and to draw off the excess water with a piece of paper towel. A decal softener will pull the decal down into the engraved lines, and at the end spray the whole model with a varnish at the matching degree of gloss.
This is an accessory decal set. The aircraft model and paints are not included in the package.
