F-16 Block 5-10 floating elevator in 1:72 scale is a resin replacement part from Quickboost for a model of this American multirole fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin accessory from Quickboost brings exactly cast horizontal tail surfaces – the floating elevator – for a model of the American F-16 Fighting Falcon multirole fighter in the early Block 5 and 10 forms in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but a replacement part that will replace the tail surfaces from the box with a more accurate casting with the correct shape and the option of a natural droop.
The F-16 uses all-moving horizontal tail surfaces (stabilators) which, on a parked aircraft with no hydraulic pressure, sink of their own accord into a drooped position. This characteristic floating look on a parked machine adds to how convincing a diorama or a display-case model is. The casting has the correct section and leading edge; the Block 5-10 version belongs to the early F-16A series.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent because of mold release residue. Cut off the casting blocks carefully with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Check the fit with the fuselage before gluing and choose the droop angle. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate); fill the transitions lightly if needed.
The accessory is supplied as a resin replacement part, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
