F-16 pitot tube and angle of attack probes in 1:72 scale from MASTER. Turned metal parts replace the coarse plastic moldings on the nose of the model.

A set of turned metal probes for models of the F-16 fighter in 1:72 scale from the Polish company MASTER. It contains the pitot tube and the angle of attack probes. This is not an aircraft kit but a detail accessory that replaces the small plastic parts on the nose.
The F-16 is a single-engine multirole fighter. On the forward fuselage it carries a set of air data sensors - a pressure probe and, on the sides of the nose, angle of attack vanes. They are small but distinctly shaped elements that catch the eye on a model right next to the cockpit.
In 1:72 scale injection-molded plastic runs into a physical limit: for the sake of the mold the probe has to be noticeably thicker than scale would suggest, and the tip tends to be rounded. Turned metal does not have this problem - the diameter is right, the tip sharp and the part will not bend. Proceed by cutting the plastic probe off at its root, sanding the area flat and drilling the hole with a micro drill exactly to the diameter of the pin. Before the glue sets, check the alignment by eye from the front and from above. Degrease the metal before painting with alcohol or an oil-free degreaser, otherwise neither paint nor primer will hold - on parts this small a fingerprint shows at once. Glue the probes on only after the clear coat is finished and the masking removed, so you do not catch them while working.
This is an accessory for further work on a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
