A replacement engine exhaust nozzle in the closed position for a model of the F-16 aircraft in 1:72 scale. An add-on to the kit, not a stand-alone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement exhaust nozzle for the tail of an F-16 aircraft model in 1:72 scale, made in the closed position. It replaces the corresponding part of the kit and thus solves one particular place that everybody looks at on a finished model: a deep ring with petals and an internal structure comes out far more convincingly from a single part in a small scale than from a glued shell. Which part of the kit the piece replaces and how to seat it is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The F-16 is an American single-engine multirole combat aircraft that spread to dozens of countries and is among the most numerous combat machines in the world. During production it was built with two engine families from two different suppliers, and the nozzles of both families differ from each other in shape and length. That is exactly why replacement nozzles are supplied in variants. This one corresponds to the nozzle of the F110 series from General Electric in the closed position; on the real machine the position of the nozzle changes with the engine setting, so check against photographs which one matches the situation you are capturing on the model.
The parts are not polystyrene and solvent cement for plastic will not join them; use super glue. Cut off the excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest away. Wash and degrease the part before painting. Try out the metallic shades and the heat traces on the nozzle on a scrap piece first.
The package contains an add-on part; the kit, paints and glue are not included in it, unless stated otherwise.
