An injection-molded plastic kit of the fifth-generation F-35B Lightning II fighter in 1:72 scale from Italeri. It is a separate STOVL version (short take-off and vertical landing), built on new molds with finely engraved panel lines. The package contains gray and clear molded plastic and decal sheets; paints, glue and accessories are not included.
The F-35B is the member of the Lightning II family intended for short take-off and vertical landing, thanks to a swiveling nozzle and a lift fan behind the cockpit. It is operated by the US Marine Corps and by the navies and air forces of other states that run light carriers or forward bases. The single-seat machine of stealth design combines advanced avionics, sensor fusion and internal weapons bays for a reduced radar signature.
Glue the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints of the fuselage and the leading edges carefully for a smooth surface. Apply a filler primer before painting; the low-reflectivity finish itself sprays well with an airbrush in shades of gray. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash and lay the decals on smooth gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
