This set is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale, not an airplane model in its own right. It replaces the original cockpit of an F-4E Phantom II plastic kit with a detailed resin casting of the tub, the seats and the side panels, and adds fine photo-etched parts. Because this is a two-seat machine, the set covers both the front and the rear station. It is meant for more experienced modelers.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II was an American two-seat jet fighter powered by a pair of engines with afterburners. The E version differed from the older Phantoms in, among other things, its built-in gun and its reshaped nose. The Phantom was one of the most widespread combat aircraft of its era and its cockpit is a rewarding target for detailers.
These are resin parts for advanced builders. Wash the castings to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with airway protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and so are the photo-etched parts. Paint the cockpit fully and bring it up before the fuselage is closed.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
