Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of self-adhesive kabuki tape masks for a model of the F-4E Phantom II in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory you use together with a kit. The maker New Ware divides its masking sets into the BASIC, ADVANCED and EXPERT grades according to their extent. EXPERT is the broadest of them and is meant for modelers who want their masking solved without cutting anything by hand. The exact list of parts is given by the maker on the packaging.
The F-4E is a later and the most numerous version of the two-seat, twin-engined Phantom. It is told apart from the earlier machines above all by a longer and slimmer nose with an internal gun beneath it, a difference that changes the whole silhouette of the forward fuselage. Later aircraft also received a revised wing leading edge. The type served in a number of countries and enjoyed a long career and many upgrades, which makes it one of the most rewarding jets to build of all.
The basis of a good result is a thin coat. Lay the paint over the edge of the mask really gently, rather several weak passes than one generous one. A heavy coat creeps under the edge and, once the mask is removed, leaves a noticeable step that looks coarse on a model in a small scale. It also helps to make the first pass in the interior color or a dark shade, which at the same time seals the edge of the mask, and only then to spray the top camouflage. Hold the airbrush perpendicular to the surface and direct the stream of paint away from the mask and inward, never under its edge. Lift the masks off shortly after the paint has gone touch-dry, while the finish is still flexible.
The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
