A set of replacement wheels for a model of the F-80 Shooting Star in 1:72 scale, in the version designated type 4.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star was one of the first American jet fighters taken into service. It has a straight wing, a cigar-shaped fuselage and tanks on the wingtips, which gave it an unmistakable silhouette. The machines served at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s and a derived version became a long-serving trainer. On models of this period the wheels are a rewarding place to refine, because it is exactly there that the simplification of the shape and of the tread pattern shows most in a kit.
It is a set of wheels for a model in 1:72 scale. The type 4 designation distinguishes a version of the wheel within the range, so you can choose the shape matching your subject. The number of pieces, the division into hub and tire and any additional parts are given by the maker in the instructions enclosed with the set.
Cut off any excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down, so that the shape of the tread is not disturbed. Match the choice of glue to the material of the parts. Before painting, wash the wheels in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry. Paint the tire a dark gray rather than black, because in a small scale black reads as a hole. If the wheels have flattening suggested on them, turn the flattened area toward the ground and glue the landing gear leg to match.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
