A finished collector model of the F-84E Thunderjet jet fighter-bomber in the markings of the unit and the pilot given in the product name. The model from the maker Easy Model is assembled, painted and marked at the factory. You are not buying a kit but a finished example ready to be displayed; you need no glue, paints or decals for it.
The F-84 Thunderjet is a single-engine first-generation jet aircraft with a straight, unswept wing and an air intake in the nose. The engine is mounted on the centerline of the fuselage and the nozzle exits at the rear under the tail surfaces. The straight wing limited its speed compared with the swept-wing fighters of the same period, but it gave the aircraft stability and load-carrying ability, thanks to which the type was used above all for attacks on ground targets with bombs and rockets. Tanks were commonly carried on the wingtips, which at the same time served as a fuel store for longer flights. The E version belongs to the middle generation of the type, still before the later reworking to a swept wing.
In 1:72 scale the model goes well with swept-wing fighters of the same period: side by side the difference in the plan of the wing is apparent at first glance and the collection gains explanatory value by it. When moving house or rearranging a display case, put the model back into its original box with the molded padding; the most exposed parts are the wingtip tanks and the tail surfaces. Hold the model by the fuselage and never lift it by the wing. Remove the dust with a dry soft brush.
