A collector model of the American F-86 jet fighter in 1:72 scale. The model is finished; it is neither built nor painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-86 is an American single-engine jet fighter from the first years after the Second World War. It was among the first production machines with a swept wing, which let it fly safely at speeds where aircraft with a straight wing were already at a loss. The broad oval air intake in the point of the fuselage and the glazed cockpit with a good view forward are unmistakable. The Sabre became famous for the fighting over Korea, where it met contemporary machines of the same class, and it stayed in service with a number of countries for many years.
This is a finished collector model in 1:72 scale, that is an item that is neither built nor varnished. At this scale a fighter works out at roughly sixteen centimeters, so even a larger collection fits into a display case and the individual machines stay comparable with one another. The standard, the markings and the scope of the delivery are given by the maker on the box.
The model suits a display case, a desk and a gift for a collector of postwar vehicles alike. Place it out of direct sun, because ultraviolet light changes the shade of the finish and of the decals over time. Sweep the dust off with a soft brush or blow it off with compressed air from a greater distance. Do not use water, spirit or cleaning agents, which could attack the surface finish. When carrying the model, hold it by the fuselage, not by the tail surfaces or the landing gear.
A kit, paints, glue and tools do not belong with this item and are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
