An Eduard Zoom photo-etched set for a model of the Vought F-8E Crusader carrier-based fighter in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Vought F-8 Crusader is an American carrier-based fighter with an unusual solution for landing on a ship. The whole wing could be tilted upwards, so the aircraft flew with a high angle of attack on the wing while the fuselage stayed closer to level and the pilot had a good view of the deck over the nose. The armament consisted of four 20 mm cannons supplemented by guided missiles. The F-8E version is one of the late fighter forms of the type.
A fret of photo-etched metal parts for building an F-8E model in 1:72 scale, from the narrower Zoom line that Eduard runs alongside its fuller frets. Zoom is not a different scale but a smaller selection of parts aimed at the places most visible on a finished model. It suits you when you want to lift a model quickly, or when you are still getting used to working with metal. What the fret contains is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface; twisting bends the metal. Make the bend in a bending tool or against the edge of a steel ruler, in one stroke. Degrease the metal before gluing. It is glued with super glue or with a two-part epoxy, and in a small amount, because an excess can no longer be removed without damaging the area around it. Cut the plastic part of the kit away only once you have the metal replacement ready and dry-fitted.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
