About product

Mr.Paint Grigio Azzurro (30 ml)

A lacquer-based modeling paint in the light blue-gray shade Grigio Azzurro. It is not a water-thinnable acrylic — it belongs to the Mr.Paint lacquer range, comes pre-thinned and is intended above all for airbrushing. This version matches the way the shade appeared on Italian aircraft built by Macchi and Reggiane during the Second World War, typically on the lower surfaces.

Use

  • Spray it with an airbrush; with a 0.3 mm nozzle it is usually ready to use straight away, otherwise thin it with lacquer (MRP) thinner — never with water.
  • Apply very thin coats; the resulting finish is satin.
  • It dries quickly and holds well on plastic as well as over a primer coat.
  • Recommended pressure is roughly 10 to 25 psi; stir the bottle before use.

Who it is for

For modelers who airbrush Italian aircraft of the Second World War and are looking for a faithful period shade in the version used on Macchi and Reggiane types. The bottle holds 30 ml.

The lacquer is flammable and contains solvents — work in a well-ventilated space, use a respirator and keep it away from open flame.

FAQ

No. It is a lacquer; it is thinned only with lacquer (MRP) thinner, as water would curdle the paint.

The shade matches the Grigio Azzurro finish used on Italian aircraft built by Macchi and Reggiane.

With a 0.3 mm nozzle it is usually ready to use; for finer nozzles thin it with lacquer thinner.
