F6F-3N/5N Hellcat night exhausts and antennas 1:72 (Quickboost)

This set of resin night exhausts and antennas replaces the plastic parts from the base kit of the American F6F Hellcat carrier night fighter in the -3N and -5N versions in 1:72 scale. The night exhausts have a flame-suppressing shape, and the casting also adds the small antennas typical of the radar-equipped night version.

The real subject and what the part is for

The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier fighter of the Second World War with a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine. The versions with the N suffix were night fighters carrying a radar in a pod on the wing. So that glare from the exhaust flame would not spoil the pilot's night vision, these machines received modified exhaust outlets with a shroud damping the flash, which this set reproduces along with the matching antennas.

Usage tips

• Wash the parts free of mold release residue in lukewarm soapy water
• Cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue; cement for plastic will not hold on resin
• Bring out the exhaust shrouds with a dark wash and a hint of scorching
