A resin detail set with a radial engine for a model of the American carrier-based Grumman F6F Hellcat fighter in 1:72 scale, from Quickboost (Aires). The set replaces the simplified plastic engine with a finely cast resin part with well-rendered cylinders and ignition harness, which shows once the engine cowling panels are opened up.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American carrier-based fighter deployed during the Second World War above all in the Pacific. It was powered by an air-cooled Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine. Rugged and reliable, the aircraft was among the most successful carrier fighters of the US Navy.
First wash the mold release residue off the resin parts, carefully separate them from the casting blocks and sand the marks down. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer before painting and lay the paint down with an airbrush in thin coats. We recommend painting the engine and picking it out in metal shades before the cowling closes over it.
This is not an airplane model but a resin accessory for more advanced modelers. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
