The set holds finely cast resin exhausts for a model of the American Grumman F6F Hellcat carrier-based fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket accessory from Quickboost (Aires) that replaces the plastic parts of the kit with sharper and more faithful castings with the outlets indicated. It is not an airplane model but a detail set for raising the realistic look of the finished build.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was a single-seat carrier-based fighter with a radial engine, flown during the Second World War. The exhaust pipes emerging from the engine cowling are a clearly visible detail even in a small scale. More faithful exhausts improve the overall impression of the nose and can be picked out with dark shades and a light sooting.
First wash the resin parts to remove any release agent, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and dry-fit them in place. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding and cutting resin, protect your airways and work in a well-ventilated area.
This is an aftermarket resin accessory. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
