An injection-molded plastic kit of the American Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. The set, from the line of easy-to-build models, offers engraved panel lines, a well-worked cockpit and a rendered radial engine. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The F8F Bearcat was Grumman's last piston-engine carrier fighter. Its designers bet on combining the smallest and lightest possible airframe with a powerful radial engine, which gave the machine outstanding rate of climb and agility. The Bearcat arrived at the very end of the Second World War and became a symbol of the high point of piston fighter development.
Thanks to the straightforward construction it is a quick and pleasant build; glue the joints with thin plastic cement. The wingtips can optionally be shown folded or spread. The characteristic glossy dark blue of US Navy aviation is best applied with an airbrush over a smooth filler primer.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
