This item is not a kit or an airplane model - it is a detail accessory for the cockpit. This set of 3D decals from Quinta Studio takes the place of painting and of photo-etched parts in the pilot's compartment of the American McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet carrier fighter and attack aircraft in the early A and C versions in the small 1:72 scale. It is shaped for a plastic Hornet kit, which the name specifies as the kit from Academy.
A 3D decal combines a decal with 3D printing: it has real thickness and a raised relief - the instruments, the levers, the switches and even the stitching of the belts stand up and cast a shadow. The part is finished in color in advance, so there is no need to paint the tiny instrument panel, which in 1:72 scale is next to impossible by ordinary means.
The F/A-18 Hornet is a twin-engine multi-role carrier aircraft of the Navy. The early A and C versions have different cockpit equipment from the later machines - the set is intended for the early form.
Remove the molded suggestion of the instruments from the cockpit plastic. Glue with a slower-drying adhesive; in the small scale the parts are very small and fragile, so work with tweezers. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage.
This is a detail accessory for modelers, not a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
