Responsibility details are not available.
A set of decals for models of the F/A-18C and F/A-18D aircraft in service with the Swiss Air Force, in 1:72 scale. The supplier describes it as a generic set, that is one which is not tied to a single particular machine.
Switzerland chose the Hornet as its main fighter and introduced it in both the single-seat C and the two-seat D versions. It is precisely the markings that distinguish a Swiss machine from an American one at first glance, so on a model the accuracy of the shape and the placement of the insignia is what matters.
The base under a decal must be glossy, or air will be trapped under the carrier film and the edge will silver. So seal the finished paintwork with gloss varnish and let it cure properly. Trim the decal close to the artwork, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and let it rest until it will move on the backing. Carry it to its place together with the paper and pull the paper out from under it. Blot the excess water away, use a decal softener on a broken-up surface and, once it is dry, seal the whole model with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
It suits a modeler building a Hornet in an unconventional European coat, and also anyone who needs to supplement or replace decals damaged by age. The particular scope of the sheet and the recommended procedure are given in the instructions enclosed with the set.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
