It represents the two-seat multirole carrier-based F/A-18D Hornet fighter in the markings of squadron VMFA-115 Silver Eagles of the US Marine Corps. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, with a decal sheet for this particular release.
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is a proven jet capable of both fighter and attack tasks. The F/A-18D version is two-seat, with a second crew member handling the weapons systems and night and all-weather duties. Squadron VMFA-115 Silver Eagles is among the traditional units of the US Marine Corps.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic, sand the joints back and lay a primer before painting. For a faithful look an airbrush and the low-visibility gray camouflage scheme both help. Apply the decals over a gloss ground and fix them with varnish so that no silvering occurs.
