Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a Model Maker decal sheet, not a kit. It serves to mark a finished model of the two-seat F/A-18D of VMFA-533 Hawks squadron. Check the particular make-up of the sheet and the number of machines offered against the illustration on the packaging.
The F/A-18D is the two-seat version of the Hornet carrier multirole aircraft. With the US Marine Corps it served as a machine capable of all-weather operations, with the second crew member operating the systems for work over the target. It is told from the single-seat version above all by its lengthened canopy, which changes the overall silhouette of the fuselage, and that is exactly why the layout of the markings on the fuselage of two-seat Hornets differs from the C versions. VMFA-533 squadron carries the nickname Hawks.
Decals belong only on a finished coat overcoated with gloss varnish. A glossy surface prevents what is called silvering, that is, the air bubbles under the carrier film that appear most often on matte. Soak the trimmed motif, and once it has released from the paper backing, slide it into place with tweezers and adjust it with a soft brush. Around the cockpit and the leading-edge transitions it pays to use a softener in two thin doses instead of one strong one. Finally overcoat the model with a matte or semi-gloss varnish, so the edges of the decals disappear.
The package holds decals. The kit, the paints, the varnish and the softener are not part of it.
