This kit is not an airplane model but the Soviet FAB-5000 M54 aerial bomb itself in 1:72 scale, completed by a handling trolley. The box holds injection-molded plastic parts and photo-etched parts. The finished model serves as a striking accessory for aircraft, for an airfield diorama or as a curiosity in its own right.
The FAB-5000 M54 was a Soviet high-explosive aerial bomb of large caliber weighing about five tons. Because of its size and weight only heavy bombers carried it, and special handling equipment was needed to load it, which the kit recalls with the trolley supplied.
Pay attention to filling the longitudinal joints of the bomb body cleanly. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The metallic look of the body is brought to life by a fine wash and a slight accent on the rivets; add dust pigments to the trolley for a sense of airfield service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
