Responsibility details are not available.
A small kit of a horse-drawn farm wagon in 1:72 scale. It is a typical diorama accessory: on its own it does not make up the main model, but it can give a scene scale, action and a civilian dimension — whether it is a country homestead, a field track next to a column of vehicles, or a scene from the first half of the twentieth century. The number of parts, the material and whether the package also holds horses are given in the enclosed instructions.
Horse-drawn wagons remained an ordinary means of transport in the countryside deep into the twentieth century and in many areas were used alongside the first trucks. A typical farm wagon has a wooden frame with high ladder sides, two axles, a pivoting front bogie and a pole for hitching the team. It served for bringing in hay, straw and grain and for the ordinary carriage of loads along field tracks. It is precisely its ordinariness and how widespread it was that make it a rewarding element in dioramas, because it comes across believably in civilian and in military scenes alike.
Glue the small pieces with tweezers over a surface from which they can be found if they drop. If the parts are of resin, wash the residues of release agent off them before building, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and glue with cyanoacrylate glue; plastic parts are joined with thin modeling cement. Wood in a small scale looks best when it is painted in a medium brown shade, left to dry and then gone over with a dark wash and a light dry brush in a lighter color, which brings out the grain and the edges. Darken the ironwork and the wheel tires and add a fine hint of rust.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
