A masking set for the Trumpeter kit of the light combat aircraft FC-1 in 1:72 scale. The double-sided version named in the title means parts for both faces of the glazing. The set does not replace the model, but it saves time at the stage that decides how clean the whole finish will look.
The FC-1, nicknamed Fierce Dragon, is a light single-engine multirole aircraft developed in China together with Pakistan, where it serves as the JF-17 Thunder. The design aimed at an affordable replacement for older second-generation fighters: one engine, modern avionics and the ability to carry guided air-to-air as well as air-to-ground weapons. The airframe has a trapezoidal wing with root extensions and side air intakes, on later aircraft built without a splitter plate.
The canopy of a modern fighter is usually molded as a thin-walled clear part, so do not press on it hard. Line the mask up dry and press it down only along the frame. The gray finishes of current aircraft reveal every step, so lay the paint on really thin and spray the transition between the shades from a distance. The set is peeled off at an angle to the edge, not straight up.
The package contains the mask. The kit and the paints are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
