Yahu Models 1:72 Fiat G.55 is a finished color photo-etched instrument panel for a model of the Italian fighter. In a small scale it replaces a hand-painted panel.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of an aircraft but an addition for the cockpit. The set holds a photo-etched instrument panel printed in color at the factory. It is precisely in 1:72 scale that this kind of addition makes the most sense, because painting legible dials by hand on a panel the size of a fingernail is practically impossible, whereas printed photo-etched brass offers sharp and even detail. The panel is shaped to the instrument panel of the Italian Fiat G.55 fighter.
The Fiat G.55 belonged to the Italian fighters of the so-called fifth series, that is, the types that received a liquid-cooled V engine of German design built in Italy under license. Compared with the older Italian machines with radial engines it meant a marked leap in performance and in armament, and it was rated as one of the best Italian fighters of the war. It reached combat only in the late phase of the conflict, however, and was built in relatively small numbers.
In a small scale, work with tweezers and good lighting. Try the part dry and sand the raised relief off the plastic panel, so that the photo-etched part seats flat and the canopy can be fitted. Glue it with a minimal amount of cyanoacrylate or with a glue for photo-etched parts, applied with the tip of a wooden stick. Do not touch the printing with your fingers and do not expose it to solvents. A tiny drop of clear gloss varnish in a dial gives the impression of glazing even at this scale.
This is an addition for the cockpit, not a kit of an aircraft. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
