Fokker S-11 Instructor Israel 1:72 is a plastic kit of the piston-engine trainer in the Israeli form from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov.
Responsibility details are not available.
This kit in 1:72 scale captures the Fokker S-11 Instructor piston-engine trainer in the form used by the Israeli operator. The model is made by Kovozavody Prostejov, a Czech maker focused, among other things, on exactly those less usual trainer and liaison types that the big brands do not usually cover. The model is supplied as a set of plastic parts to be assembled and painted.
The Fokker S-11 Instructor is a single-engine low-wing monoplane for basic training, with a piston engine, fixed landing gear and a glazed cabin for the instructor and the pupil. It came into being in postwar Netherlands as a simple and rugged machine for the first stages of pilot training, and besides the Dutch Air Force it was taken on by other air arms as well; some of the machines were built under license outside the Netherlands. Israel was among the users with which the type served in basic pilot training.
With smaller trainer aircraft the result is decided by clean joints and a fine surface, so sand the joints with the finest paper after gluing and restore the engraving. The cabin glazing is fairly large: mask it and spray the frames in two steps, first with the interior color and then with the external shade. The interior is easy to look into on a side-by-side as well as a tandem cabin, so it pays to work up the seats and the instrument panel. Spray gloss varnish before the decals and, once finished, unify the surface with a matte or semi-gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
