A set of resin underwing pylons for the British BAe Sea Harrier FRS.1 vertical takeoff and landing carrier-based aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part that replaces or supplements the pylons from the base kit, not a stand-alone airplane model. On the real aircraft, armament and external fuel tanks were hung from the pylons.
The BAe Sea Harrier FRS.1 was a British carrier-based fighter, reconnaissance and strike aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing, powered by a vectored-thrust Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine. It made its name in the Falklands War in 1982, when it was the main carrier fighter of the British task force. On the underwing pylons it carried air-to-air missiles, bombs and external fuel tanks.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove any release agent, separate them carefully from the casting block and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. Dry-fit the pylons to the underside of the wing before gluing and check their spacing and alignment, so that the stores hang symmetrically.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
