FuG 202 Lichtenstein B/C (3D print, 1:72) is a set of printed radar aerials for adding accuracy to models of German night fighters of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings finely 3D-printed resin parts of the FuG 202 Lichtenstein B/C radar in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory that replaces or supplements the aerial array on the nose of a night fighter and lifts the fidelity of the finished model considerably.
The FuG 202 Lichtenstein B/C was an airborne interception radar introduced with the Luftwaffe from 1942. The characteristic dense array of small dipole aerials, nicknamed the mattress, was carried by night fighters such as the Messerschmitt Bf 110, the Junkers Ju 88 and the Dornier Do 217. The radar made it possible to guide the fighter onto Allied bombers even in the dark.
Separate the parts carefully from the print supports and wash off any uncured resin residue. The thin aerials are fragile, so glue them with cyanoacrylate and work in a well-lit space. Apply a thin primer before painting; the aerials themselves are usually in metallic or dark shades depending on the particular aircraft.
This is an accessory set, not a standalone model. Paints, glue and the basic kit are not included in the package.
