This is a resin set made for the plastic kit of the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter in the A-5 and A-9 versions in 1:72 scale. The package replaces the wheels of the model with faithfully cast resin parts carrying a recessed tire tread pattern and finely defined hubs. Masking film is included, which makes it easier to paint the tire and the hub cleanly without the labor of cutting masks.
The Fw 190 was one of the most significant German fighters of the Second World War. The A-series machines were powered by an air-cooled BMW 801 radial engine and the aircraft stood out for its sturdy structure and heavy armament. The A-5 and A-9 versions were among the development steps of this line, with reworked engine and equipment.
First wash the wheels to remove any mold release agent and separate them from the casting blocks. The cast tires with their recessed tread can be fitted with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Stick the masking film onto the finished wheel, spray the tire, and once the mask is peeled off the hub is left cleanly bounded. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
