A set of precisely cast resin radiators (engine oil coolers) for the four-engine Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part with a finely rendered front grille and sharp edges, replacing the coarser plastic parts from the base kit. It is not a model of the aircraft in its own right, but an accessory for more faithful engine nacelles.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor was originally a civil long-range airliner that became a long-range maritime reconnaissance and anti-shipping aircraft during the Second World War. Thanks to its great range it operated far out over the Atlantic, where it guided submarines and attacked convoys, which earned it the nickname the Scourge of the Atlantic. Its four radial engines and the delicate detail of the nacelles make it a rewarding subject for fine-tuning a model.
Resin parts need more care than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, carefully separate them from the casting block and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. Apply a primer before painting. The fine radiator grilles come into their own once painted and gently picked out with a dark wash.
The part is supplied as a resin accessory, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
