Eduard G4M2 Betty + Ohka masks 1:72 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the Japanese G4M2 Betty bomber and the Ohka rocket aircraft. It gives sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:72 scale is meant for a plastic model of the Japanese twin-engine Mitsubishi G4M2 bomber, which the Allies designated by the code name Betty, together with the Ohka rocket aircraft carried beneath it. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without slow hand-cutting of tape.
The Mitsubishi G4M is a Japanese twin-engine bomber of the Second World War with a long range but weak armor. The G4M2 version had an extensively glazed nose and tail. In the late phase of the war it served as the carrier of the Yokosuka Ohka suicide rocket aircraft, a small rocket-powered machine that dived onto its target after release. The number of glazed areas makes masking a laborious job.
Degrease the extensive glazing of the nose and the tail thoroughly. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them patiently on the individual fields of both machines, frame by frame. Fine-tune the transitions with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin layers. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
