A kit of the fictional German walking machine E75 Mech with a 150 mm assault gun, 1:72 scale. A subject from the world of the so-called weird war.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation E-75 belongs to a real German project from the end of the Second World War. The E series was meant to standardize the construction of tracked vehicles into a few weight classes, and the E-75 was the heavy type among them, which never got off the drawing board. This kit takes it somewhere else: instead of tracked running gear it received walking legs, and the project becomes a machine of the kind a modeler knows from the world of the weird war, where late German equipment meets what never existed.
The walking machine carries a heavy 150 mm assault gun, that is a weapon of short range and great destructive power meant for breaking down obstacles and positions. The assault gun designation suggests that the barrel is mounted in a fixed superstructure and not in a rotating turret, and the shaping of the machine follows late German tracked vehicles with their angled armor plates.
Plan the stance of the machine before you start gluing the legs on for good; the pose decides whether the model looks heavy or as if it had just come to a halt. Try the parts dry and seat the barrel straight. The painting takes the whole late German palette, that is a dark yellow base with brown and green fields. A walking machine moreover has large smooth areas that call for chipped edges, darkened joints and mud built up on the legs from the bottom upward.
For builders who enjoy machines on the border between history and fantasy, and for collectors of small scales who want something unconventional in their display case. Paints, glue and figures are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
