Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Academy that brings a German fuel tanker truck and the small amphibious Schwimmwagen together in one package. The tanker truck is based on the standard German three-ton chassis, and the Schwimmwagen represents a floating reconnaissance and liaison vehicle. The package contains the parts of both vehicles, a decal sheet and assembly instructions.
Fuel tankers supplied German units with fuel and were an indispensable part of logistics on every front. The Schwimmwagen (Volkswagen Type 166) was a light amphibious car derived from the Kübelwagen. Thanks to a folding marine propeller and drive to all four wheels it could cross water obstacles and heavy terrain, and so it became one of the most successful amphibious vehicles of its time.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the seams down. The small Schwimmwagen deserves careful cleaning up, because every detail is clearly visible in 1:72 scale. Paint the chassis and the interiors before closing the bodies. Choose period shades (Panzergrau or Dunkelgelb) and finish the surface with a dark wash in the panel grooves, dry-brushing on the edges and dust pigments on the chassis. The tanker can be brought to life with a hint of spilled fuel and oily streaks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
