A large set of plastic figures in 1:72 from Italeri. It represents German infantrymen of the Second World War in winter uniform. The package contains 36 figures in 12 poses on three identical sprues. The figures are one-piece, free-standing and unpainted.

The real subject

German infantry on the Eastern Front faced hard frosts in winter and used winter greatcoats, capes and caps with ear flaps. The figures capture soldiers in winter clothing both on the move and in combat, with rifles, submachine guns and light machine guns.

Building and painting tips

The figures are one-piece and need no assembly; before painting just clean the parting seams off them. The softer plastic holds the paint better once a primer has been applied. For a winter scene choose white, gray and khaki shades with shading from a wash, and bring the faces and the equipment to life with dry brushing.
