Modelcollect 1:72 German Horten H18A is a plastic kit of the never-built project for a German long-range flying wing bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from Modelcollect in 1:72 scale captures the German Horten H18A, a super long-range strategic bomber in flying wing form. An important note: it is not a real aircraft that ever flew but a paper what-if project from the end of the Second World War that stayed on the drawing board. The kit therefore represents a concept and an enthusiast reconstruction rather than a real machine. The model will be appreciated by those who follow aviation technology and flying wing concepts.
The Horten H18 (Ho XVIII) was a design by the Horten brothers for a long-range bomber in flying wing form that was meant to reach the territory of the USA under the Amerikabomber project. It drew on their experience with flying wings, above all with the Ho 229. The A version was to be powered by several jet engines. The aircraft was never built and never flew; the war ended before the project left the paper, so its appearance and performance remain a matter of period studies and estimates.
Use liquid cement on the plastic. Sand the large surfaces of the flying wing carefully and fill the seams so that the surface looks smooth; apply primer before painting. Because it is a concept with no confirmed real finish, the model can be treated as an interesting study, with period Luftwaffe shades or a fictional scheme of your own brought to life with panel lines.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
